Saturday 17th October – Levy Market Shop & Go – All the Stalls

All the details for our award-winning market in Levenshulme on Saturday 17th October, 10am to 4pm. Find us on the Levenshulme train station car park, M19 3AB.

It’s not a great time for a lot of people right now: food and drink businesses that are once again facing closure, those in the arts who are struggling to make their social and economic importance appreciated, and, well, all of us who live in Greater Manchester and have been banned from going to one another’s houses since July and are now staring down the barrel of stricter measures.

To take your mind of things, we’ll have some primo food traders cooking up dishes for you at the market that you can then take home and enjoy: Kenyan barbecue from Nyama Choma, pizza and calzone from Cibus, home-cured salt beef bagels from Pastrami Now and plenty more.

We’ll also have ice-cream from the mighty Ginger’s Comfort Emporium who are currently producing a series of limited run autumnal flavours, as well as cakes, brownies, cookies and more from local fave McMarley’s Bakes.

You’ll also find a host of brand new shopping picks for you: handpicked vintage clothing the 1960s-1980s from Lollipop Vintage, cards and artwork from Christopher Walster, handmade bags from Uva, and a selection of products from You Can Lead a Horse to Water, a Peak District farm that uses the byproducts from their bees, sheep and poultry: we’re talking wool plant pots, natural beeswax candles and otherworldly albumen prints made using surplus egg whites.

And, as ever, you can also get a big chunk of your weekly shopping done, with natural soap, skincare and more from Wild Venus, tea from Tiger Tea, eggs and butter from Winter Tarn Dairy, sauces and seasonings from DevilDog Sauces, wine from VinoBuono, and pies, pasties and sausage rolls from HMPasties.

Please continue to support all our traders, both those for whom opportunities to sell food and drink are increasingly scarce and those who want to continue creating artwork they love, are skilled at and provides their livelihoods.

And remember: throughout October we’re taking donations at every market for Every Month, a charity which puts together period packs for those people experiencing poverty in Greater Manchester. Bring along menstrual pads, non-applicator tampons, applicator tampons and other disposable tampons/pads/liners. These will be included in period packs that will then be distributed around Greater Manchester where they are needed. You can find all the info you need here.

REMEMBER: Levy Market is currently operating as Levenshulme Market Shop & Go. That means no eating or drinking at the market, as well as no socialising. Instead, we ask that you support our traders by making your purchases and heading home to enjoy them. You can find out more info here.
