SATURDAY 7TH DECEMBER – LEVENSHULME MARKET – ALL THE STALLS

Ho ho ho. Here’s all the details for our festive market in Levenshulme on Saturday 7th December 2019, 10am to 4pm. Find us on the Levenshulme train station car park, M19 3AB.

Christmas is here! Aargh! Are you psychologically, emotionally and gift-ily prepared? No? Well, don’t worry – no-one else is either. Thankfully, we have put together a market where you can find some relaxing, yuletide fun while also getting some of your Christmas shopping done.

Need to pick up some of your Christmas food shopping? How do parsnips, carrots and roasties made with local potatoes from Reddy Lane Market Garden sound? How about meat from traditional native breeds courtesy of Savin Hill Farm and Butchery? After those vital condiments? Look no further than DevilDog Sauces‘ stall where you can choose from habanero cranberry and sour orange sauce and mulled ginger beer and chocolate naga sauce. And, of course, after all that you’ll be needing a big fat cheeseboard from Winter Tarn Cheese.

Christmas tree looking sadly non-festive? Worry not – we’ll have some beautiful handmade decorations from Cottonopolis, Bloor’s Emporium, Junk to Funky and plenty more – all locally produced, unique, and one of a kind.

And, of course, gifts! Stop by Dr Zinsky for some wonderful handmade hats and scarves, Heart and Parcel for cookbooks, and Pop Up Tokyo for charming paper sculptures for that utterly-impossible-to-buy-for someone in your life.

Then, finally, you can grab some international streetfood – Italian! Indian! Himalayan! – and a seasonal tipple from our pop-up winter warmer bar.

AS IF THAT WASN’T ENOUGH, we’ll also have live music from Tom Blackwell, a singer-songwriter described by BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris as ‘wonderful, heartfelt music’, and live demonstrations from the Science Buskers (aka the University of Manchester Physics Outreach team) with some breathtaking physics experiments, from the biggest stuff in the universe right down to the smallest things we can look at, all right in front of you.

We’re also really excited to welcome our first set of artists who will be sketching 3 minute portraits down at the market. This week we’ve got the talented Daniel Parker and Jamie Roberts joining us. Get a bespoke sketch of yourself, your partner, your pooch – perfect little Christmas presents!

So if the crowds at the big markets in town aren’t for you and you’re in the mood for a close-knit, friendly local Christmas market, simply hop on the train for a three minute trip to Levenshulme instead. Here you can support a community-led market, shop local and buy from independent traders this Christmas, all while simply having a wonderful Christmastime.

Ho ho ho. Here’s all the stalls you can expect to find.
