Live music, face painting & cycling…oh my!

Whether you like whizzing about on two wheels, enjoying some tunes or being a tiger for the day, we’ve got it all sewn up at this Saturday’s vintage, fashion and flea market.

Live music is provided by the very talented Ben Lewis, a 25-year-old local who you may have heard busking in the railway tunnel. The acoustics in there may be pretty good, but we’ve persuaded Ben to come out and take to our ‘main stage’ this Saturday for a performance of pop/folk loveliness at 1pm. Ben’s also doing some training at our fabulous local radio station ALL FM, so you might be able to catch him on the local airwaves quite soon!

For the little ‘uns, our face painter Roshine is back for another Saturday, dedicated as she is to transforming those tots into butterflies, superheroes, tigers and bumblebees. She’ll be offering FREE face painting for the kids from 12-1pm (chargeable after 1pm), so get there in plenty of time!

The Levy Cycling Tour – hitting the market at 2pmPoster2-1

Just in time to catch Ben’s performance, we’re expecting a visit from the Levy Cycle Tour at 2pm, so listen out for those bicycle bells. The tour, which starts from Chorlton, takes participants along the Sustrans routes, including the Fallowfield Loop, which connect our urban areas, highlighting lesser known natural beauty spots and attractions. Plus, it’s a pretty fantastic way to spend a Saturday! To find out more about the Levy Cycle Tour, hop over to Love Levenshulme for all the details (but be quick about it if you want to join in the fun!). You can also chat to some of the lovely folk at Sustrans on Saturday, as they’ll be manning a stall at the market all day.

It’s all going off this Saturday, and we’re looking forward to an action-packed day of shopping and community fun – we’ll see you all there!
