Brrrrrrrrrrrrr-ing a blanket!

**Our special Christmas night market will take place on the train station car park in Levenshulme this FRIDAY from 4.00pm – 9.00pm – don’t forget, that means there will be NO Saturday market this week – back on 6th December!**

At our night markets we like to bring a little extra comfort – usually in the form of an extended covered seating area so you can sup your drinkies, eat your dinner and admire your purchases, but it may not have escaped your notice that December is a little chillier than our usual evening dos. The solution? Well how about a covered seating area, with comfy squidgy sofas for you and yours to settle down into for the evening? And some lovely warm blankets to cuddle up under? Nice idea, eh?

Well we’re very pleased to announce that TotalReuse – a fantastic social enterprise who divert reusable items from landfill by finding them a new home or remanufacturing them into something completely different – have loaned us some fantastic sofas and arm chairs for this Friday night – good eh?

And as for the blankets – well that got us thinking – we’ll all want to keep warm while we’re outdoors on a cold winter night, but there are thousands in this city who spend every night outdoors, and often without any form of shelter or source of warmth. So we’ve teamed up with the fantastic Coffee for Craig charity and we’re asking you to help us (and them) out here – bring your own blanket to the market – one that you no longer need at home. You and yours can us the blanket keep warm and then, when you’re done for the evening, you can drop your blanket off at POD bar, round the corner from the market on Albert Road (who will be hosting an after party for the market with oodles of warm drinks for everyone) where they will be collecting them to donate to Coffee for Craig. So you get to stay toasty for your evening out, whilst ensuring that a homeless person in Manchester benefits too – neat eh?!

We really hope as many of you as possible will want to take part in this special event – you can read more about the work of TotalReuse and Coffee for Craig here and here, we hope you agree that they’re both fantastic organisations that deserve your support.
